Peroxide then flush: Generally it helps to use hydrogen peroxide to soften the wax and use a bulb syringe or waterpik to then flush it out. See http://www.Myhomeremedies.Com/topic.Cgi?Topicid=2153 for details. If the wax build-up is too much it may be beyond your ability to deal with at home and might require a doctor's visit to clear it out. ...Read more

Ear Wax (Definition)

Ear wax in the ear canal is a mixture of secretions from oil and sweat glands in the canal's skin. Shedded skin cells are also a major ingredient of ear wax. There are two genetically determined types of ear wax: the wet type and the dry type. While Asians and Native Americans are more likely to have the dry type (crumbly, flaky), Africans and Europeans are more likely to have the ...Read more

My right ear feels blocked with ear wax if I use ear drops will it make Eustachian tube dysfunction worse in that ear? Or should I get it flushed?

My right ear feels blocked with ear wax if I use ear drops will it make Eustachian tube dysfunction worse in that ear? Or should I get it flushed?

What's in the ear?: The doctor will want to know what is in the ear. He has to look in the ear. Otherwise, he has to guess what's in the ear... unless another doctor just cleared out the canals. If so, it is presumed that nothing is in the ear canal. In a normal person, without a hole or a tube in the eardrum, ear drops will not go beyond the ear canal, so most drops will not directly affect the eustachian tube. ...Read more

For 1 week i feel exhausted and i had a blocked ear but doctor said it's only ear wax. What could it be?

Wax or other issues: If you had a viral syndrome(cold), last week, it is possible that your eustachian tube has swollen causing a sense of pressure or congestion in your ear. In some cases, there can be fluid in the middle ear. If the doctor cleaned out the ear wax and you still have blockage, then you should try decongestants and mucolytics like mucinex (guaifenesin). Also, consider an ENT evaluation to check out your problem. ...Read more

Had blocked ear do to allergies. Did a ear wax removal kit. Still seemed plugged up two days later went to do peroxide/water it was cold now vertigo?

Blocked ear: You probably still have wax in the ear. Use a bulb syringe and warm water so you do not get dizzy. The cold water will always cause you to get dizzy. Do not use cold water. You can use some more peroxide or you can get it sucked out by your local ent. You so not have to suffer any longer. See the ent, if you are frustrated. It is fun to get your ear cleaned out by a professional, . ...Read more

What I should do if there are too much ear wax and i feel the ear is somewhat "blocked"?

Debrox: As an ENT surgeon, the simplest thing i suggest is using over the counter debrox drops twice daily for one week. If that does not do the trick call your local ent. Most ents have a microscope in the office. Under microscope the wax (cerumen) will be removed with instruments or a gentle vacuum. ...Read more

Ear drops: There are many over the counter ear drops available. Most of them soften the wax, and some even have an ingredient that helps bubble the wax away from your eardrum (and out of your ear). Another cheap and easy way to soften the wax and get it out is stool softener liquid. Just put some in your ear, and let it sit for awhile each day. Eventually it will soften and fall out. Good luck! ...Read more
