Flight Physiology: During flight, we ascend to altitudes where there is less pressure, allowing gas in our gut to expand which can lead to bloating. This is because of the physics of how gasses behave at different pressures: Boyle's Law. Try to avoid gas producing foods like beans, broccoli, carbonated beverages for a few days before flying.
