Bloated Stomach Hernia
Common: Having a "bloated stomach" after abdominal surgery is very common. It may take a few more weeks to go back to normal. If there was a kink in the intestine preventing passage of intestinal contents, this would generally caused pain nausea and vomiting. Call your surgeon if you are really concerned for an exam.See 1 more doctor answer
After my c section my stomach has been bloated real bad and pains. What concerns me too is that I have a hernia and I think it has got bigger.
I suspect I may have hernia in my lower right abdomen/waistline area. I have also had constipation/diarrhea and a bloated feeling on and off for the last week. Are these symptoms of hernia?
Abdomen Pain Hernia?: Usually a hernia presents with pain ; a bulge more in the inguinal/groin area rather than the lower abdominal although constipation diarrhea ;bloating may be present in large, obvious hernias, in the absence of a bulge consistent with a definite hernia, such symptoms are more consistent with a gastrointestinal problem. An evaluation by your physician or a gastroenterologist is in order to begin.See 1 more doctor answer

Had incisional hernia repair2.5 days ago. My stomach is very bloated. I've had a hard time going to bathroom & I can't seem to keep my eyes open, ok?
Call your surgeon: This could all be related to the development of post-operative ileum (where the bowels slow down) and can be worsened with the use of narcotic pain medications. However, since you have several other medical problems, it would be safe for you to contact your surgeon's office to be seen. Meanwhile, drink fluids, walk as much as you can and if you vomit, have fever, or have wound drainage, go to er.

I had a Laparoscopic Inguinal hernia surgery three days ago and my whole abdominal area has been bloated since the repair. Is there anything I could do?
Be patient.: As long as you're not having nausea and vomiting, a bit of abdominal distention is normal. It will get better in a few days. Being up and walking as much as you can often helps.
My wife has had a hiatal hernia. It now looks larger than a golf ball sticking out of her stomach. She's been short of breath, nauseated and bloated. What should I do?
Cannot see: A hiatal hernia on the outside of a person. A hiatal hernia is deep inside where the stomach goes into the chest. If you see a hernia bulge on the outside it could be an umbilical or ingunai (groin) hernia, or hernia in a scar from past surgery. If you see a hernia bulge & it is hard & tender, then see a doctor asap.See 2 more doctor answers
Just had umbilical hernia tuesday it's now 1 day later it very hard to stand straight my stomach feels tight and bloated is this normal had one very small bowl movement in morning?
Likely normal: Those symptoms are pretty normal after an umbilical hernia repair. If the symptoms don't get better or are concerning to you, definitely call your surgeon's office. He will see you and make sure nothing is going on. In the meantime, you can take pain medications, laxatives, and eat and drink as tolerated.See 2 more doctor answers
I had an hernia repair with mesh 4years ago I have been getting a burning pain in my groin and genitals plus a very bloated stomach any ideas thanks.
Failed hernia repair: I am going to presume that you had an inguinal hernia repair. It seems that maybe that mesh has loosened and some bowel is coming through. This is why you have the referred pain to your groin. If your skin over the area is normal colored, you should call your PCP ASAP for an appointment. If the skin is darker than usual or purplish, you should go to the ER.
Why on an empty stomach do I have gas and. Bloated and stomach pain and feel like I can't breathe and feel like passing out but when I eat it goes away I have a hiatal hernia and acid reflux. Help.

See Your Surgeon: If you had a Nissen Fundoplication highly likely it has come undone and needs to be revised ASAP
Have large ab. Hernia (s), also Ch. Gastritis. I've been in severe pain in my upper ab, pain is area of stomach and hernia. How do I know what pain is from?
Abd hernia pain: I would go to your Drs and show them what is going on. They will examine you and may want to do x-rays/ultra sound. To figure out what the pain is from.
Abdominal Hernia: I do not see a question here. But, this is a very common problem. It is an easy surgery to repair. And, if you have any pain there you must be seen urgently for this surgical evaluation.See 1 more doctor answer
Hole: A hernia is a hole in the abdominal wall or diaphragm through which intra-abdominal organs may pass. Not usually: Hernias of the abdominal wall should be surgically repaired. Serious complication can occur - including the hernia growing larger and trapping bowel within it. When that happens the hernia is painful and dangerous. Bleeding is not common - it does occur if bowel is trapped. Please do see a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. Peter wilk, md.
Depends: If the hernia has been evaluated by a surgeon and you decided not to have it repaired, then it should be ok if it golfing does not cause you pain. If it was advised to have it repaired due to symptoms and size, then I would not recommend golf or any other heavy physical activity.See 1 more doctor answer
Hernia Repair: The best way to treat pain from a hernia is to repair the hernia. If this is not feasible at this time, general measures such as avoiding heavy lifting and wearing a truss/abdominal binder (depending on hernia location) may help. Unfortunately, hernias never heal on their own--surgery remains your best-bet. Good luck!See 2 more doctor answers
