Find support: Have you talked with your delivery team? Obgyns, midwives, doulas are all great sources of guidance and support. There are usually local breast-feeding groups that can be helpful with all sorts of new baby concerns. You can find friends and share both ideas and efforts. There are a few in franklin, tn. I thought I had a milk blister in my left nipple but now think it could be an intriductular papilloma?
Blister: I don't think it is concerning. It may be from a shirt you were wearing and it irritated the sensitive area of the nipple or if you are a woman, your bra irritated the nipple. It could also be a gland or cyst. Moist heat to it for a day or two should be okay. If it continues, then you should see your primary care physician to make sure it is a simple blister and not something else. ...Read more
Aside from lanolin, how can I treat a small nipple blister that I got from breastfeeding? Is dabbing alcohol safe? It's not a milk bleb.
No lanolin: I advised my nursing moms with sore nipples to clean gently with diaper wipe or moist washcloth and air dry after sessions. Then express small amount of your breast milk and massage in. Breast milk has lots of healing properties. Lanolin is an old-fashioned advise and can cause the nipples to remain soft and easier to tear during nursing. ...Read more

Hi, I woke up two days ago and I noticed a round bump/blister on the side on my nipple where my piercing is. What could it be? Infection? Herpes?
Pustule: This could be a bacterial skin infection (pustule) rather than a herpes infection since there is only one lesion. If other blisters develop then herpes would be more likely and your physician could confirm the diagnosis and prescribe treatment. Post mastitis and huge blisters, how do I heal this patch of dead skin on my nipple? Breastfeeding.
Needs evaluation: "Blisters" and "dead skin" on a breast after mastitis sounds like a problem. A primary care doctor can evaluate it to see if further treatment is needed, or perhaps the previously inflamed skin is now drying up and will eventually peel away, leaving new skin. The breast can be examined now and then again later, to be sure the breast returns to normal, and there is not another medical problem. ...Read more

Try domeboro: Soaks to dry up blisters, but I would recommend figuring out the cause of the blisters. (sun exposure, contact dermatitis, blistering disorder). See your derm when a blister is present and a biopsy can be done if necessary to determine what's going on. Doesn't sound like shingles but it isn't always on 1/2 of your body. ...Read more

Have had a dull pain on left side of my neck for 7 days. 4 days ago I noticed a small cluster of 6 blisters right in the middle of chest. Shingles?
Likely not: Your question reveals a dull pain on lateral neck, then 4 days later a cluster of blisters in middle of the chest. Shingles is caused by the same virus as chicken pox, and lays dormant and usually strikes elderly people with weakened immune systems. Pain normally referred to as intense, and the blistering would not cross the midline, but be affecting a stripe unilaterally called a dermatome. ...Read more
