Allergic cobblestone: You probably have allergic cobblestoning that is a function of allergy. Definitely smoking doesn't help - and by the way leads to accelerated aging... Virus, maybe herpes?: Any of several viral infections could do this, but main concern is herpes if you have been exposed, e.g. kissed someone with oral herpes or performed oral sex on someone with genital infection. See a doctor ASAP, especially if at risk for herpes. If that's it, you need tests to confirm it and to learn virus type (herpes simplex virus 1 or 2), and for treatment, which works best when started early. ...Read more

Virus infection: That red 'rash' is called an enanthem and it could be from a virus such as adenovirus, enterovirus, or coxsackie - something like that. If this was mono or Strep, those should cause a fever and you would probably be worse. Best to get it checked with a throat exam and diagnostic tests.
