Hard to say : I suspect even if I were to examine you I would be saying hmm? Well it doesn't appear serious. Let me know if it becomes red or painful or gets worse in any way. Meanwhile, apply some antibiotic cream as you did and apply moist heat and let's watch. ...Read more

Cold sore?: A swelling on the lip with a blister likely is Herpes Simplex Virus type 1(cold sore or fever blister). If this is a first episode of HSV 1 it can be more severe. Oral antiviral medication (Rx) can help if taken within 72 hours(or later if very severe). In milder cases Zilactin-B (OTC) is very effective for pain(contains Benzocaine).
