Reaction?: If any contact with bowl cleaner or other chemical, could be a local reaction (/"burn") from that, which may look infected on exam (hence abx/anti-fungal). Maybe not insect: Skin irritation can have many causes, it may be that it was actually something else, like oil from a plant that got on your skin. You want to make sure it isn't infected.
