Blinking eyes. Some says it's mannerism.?

See an eye md to rule out simple causes, and see if further testing is required. ...Read more

Does everyday eye accommodation, focusing or blinking worsen pigmentary dispersion syndrome?

Does everyday eye accommodation, focusing or blinking worsen pigmentary dispersion syndrome?

A little bit: The motion of the iris against the underlying fibers that support the lens (zonules) rubs off the pigment from the back of the iris which is the basis for pigmentary dispersion. A little bit comes off with everyday normal use and it can be accelerated with athletic pursuits. As long as your ophthalmologist feels that the internal eye pressure is not being increased, this is ok. ...Read more

Blurred vision in one eye, headaches, muscle twitches, dark/yellow circles around eyes. Cat scan of brain & blood work normal. Sound serious?

See an eye doc: Even though cat scan normal, you should still be seen by an ophthalmologist given your symptoms especially if they are progressive. It could be as simple as needing an updated pair of glasses if this is just eye strain(which can cause blurred vision, headaches, and stress related twitching around eyes), but it needs to be ruled out because it could be more serious. ...Read more

Why are clear eyes eye drops making my eyes red?

Why are clear eyes eye drops making my eyes red?

Rebound dilation: This is a problem called rebound dilation. Clear eyes and visine contain drugs which constrict the blood vessels in the eye making the eye appear white. This works well if used once in a while. If used chronically, the blood vessels stop responding and stay dilated due to lack of oxygen. This results in redness. Stop using the drops and see your eye doctor. ...Read more

Eyes : what is the use of blinking eyes , is good for eyes to get rid of strain ?

Lubrication: Blinking serves at least two functions: removing debris from the eye surface, and lubricating the eye. Eyelids act as "reverse windshield wipers" - they push tears onto the eye's surface in order to keep it moist and nourished. Blinking can clear up vision temporarily in those whose eyes have become dry (from excess staring at the computer, for example), but does not relieve strain. ...Read more

9 year old child been blinking eyes a lot and had a large soft mushy bowel movement in her sleep didn't wake up ?

Correlation unlikely: Excessive blinking can be forceful, a tic like condition or non forceful due to weakness of the eye muscle resp. for elevating the upper eyelid. Loss of bowel control may not be related to the eye symptoms but both conditions require a very careful evaluation to rule out other underlying causes. I will recommend an evaluation by your PCP who will determine if a neuro consult is necessary ...Read more
