Have been diagnosed with blighted ovum shud i wait for miscarriage or should go for d &c?

Have been diagnosed with blighted ovum shud i wait for miscarriage or should go for d &c?

Difficult: There are pros and cons of each. Waiting is the most natural choice. It may take 2 weeks or longer before bleeding begins and then it may last 2 weeks or longer and be painful. A D&C does carry risk of both the procedure and the anesthesia. Psychologically many women prefer the D&C so that it will be over and they can begin the healing process. You should take your time and decide whats best. ...Read more

See a specialist: You should have ovulation return in about a month after a miscarriage. There are reasons for no ovulation, including the tests you are using are incorrect. Check your bbt, opk and then your doc can also look at ultrasound and hormone levels in some cases to make a diagnosis. Failing to ovulate is usually an easy problem to correct. My 5th pregnancy was a blighted ovum. (my first miscarriage). I am pregnant again is it likely I will have a blighted ovum again?

Miscarriage: Every pregnancy has about a 25% chance of miscarriage, which may increase slightly with age. The fact that you've had other pregnancies is encouraging, but each pregnancy carries that risk. There is nothing you could've done to cause it, nor to prevent it.
