Bleeding After Leep Procedure
Less than a period: Mild spotting or bleeding like a light period might be normal. Bleeding with clots or as much or more than a period would not likely be normal, and you should check with your doctor.
This is a procedure done to remove a part of the cervix that is abnormal. Pts have leeps once they have had an abnormal pap smear and further evaluation warranted a leep to remove tissue off the cervix. This is both a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure. Its cuts the bad part out and it helps heal whatever other tissue is affected by ...Read more
I had a LEEP procedure a week ago and just started bleeding. Is this normal and how long will it possibly last?
A "LEEP" of faith..: .. says the bleeding is probably related to the procedure. After all, it is designed to remove tissue from the cervix - sometimes the lacerated part will scab over and then break loose after a time - could be a week - especially if progesterone is enhancing the cervical bogginess/ thickness.
Maybe: First of all I always told my females after leep or conization not to have intercourse for 6 weeks. Post-operatively that area of your cervix needs to heal. Sort of like having a scab on your knee from falling. As it is healing you hit it again and it bleeds easier than normal skin would. Same thing with your cervix. Also could this be your period?
I had leep procedure 8 months ago. I've always noticed mild bleeding on&off from having sex and recently its been heavier during intercourse?
I had a LEEP procedure 11 days ago & started bleeding about 5 days ago. Its more than a period. Walking around I can feel myself bleeding. Normal?
No.: The bleeding after a LEEP is usually pretty light - lighter than a period. Probably best to go back to the doctor who performed the procedure. Hope this helps.
Had a LEEP Procedure done 9 days ago. Had no bleeding the 1st 3 days, then light spotting for the past 6 days. How long is it normal to have spotting?
Varies: Might have spotting for up to 2-3 weeks
Had leep procedure done 18days ago, still bleeding! Hasn't stopped, ever. Not heavy like a period but enough to fill light pad every hour. What's normal?
Sounds long: I suggest you go back for a recheck.
Cycle?: Could you be having your regular cycle? If not, I would most certainly be seen as your bleeding from the procedure should have been gone long ago.
4 weesks ago, I had a leep (loop) procedure, still bleeding no heavy, no big blood clots, nothing like that is this normal?
Did u call your gyn: U shoudl be calling your gyn cause your gyn knows how the proceddure went and what u have, your gyn needs to check your cervix to make sure it is healing properly as u may granulation tissue or an infection, so please call teh doc who did yoru procedure.
I know that I can't have penetrative sex for 4-6 weeks after lletz/leep procedure, but what about clitoral orgasm? Have had no bleeding or pain
I'd abstain: The reason I wouldn't attempt a clitoral orgasm is that is can cause contractions of your uterus and vagina which is close to where they performed the surgery. This could cause bleeding and disruption of any sutures, or scar tissue that could be present. I would also ask your Gynecologist who performed this surgery. Good luck
Today 7/10. I had a leep procedure done may 12. Normal everything except bleeding during sex. Now its like a murder scene. Ultrasound in 3 wks. Why?
Bleeding Like Murder: Bleeding liks a murder scene is a life threatening emergency and means you are wasting your time on the internet and should be in the ER immediately. Please call 911 or get someone to drive you to the hospital urgently.
Yes: The cervix has to have a chance to heal and some bleeding and cramping are normal. Under no circumstances should you have anything in your vagina (including tampons) until your physicians says it's ok. If you have heavy bright red bleeding flowing like that of a period, that would be too heavy after a leep.
Had a leep procedure done last week. Should I be worried that I am bleeding very heavily and having big blood clots?
Please see doc: Delayed hemorrhage may occur one to two weeks after leep and is related to dissolving sutures or erosion of a blood vessel during the healing process. Bleeding often resolves with conservative measures in the office setting, such as application of silver nitrate or ferric subsulfate, suturing, or packing.See 1 more doctor answer
I had LEEP procedure done 3 weeks ago, still bleeding and starting to get a lot of skin irritation from wearing a pad for 3 weeks... contact my dr?
I had a LEEP procedure done two weeks ago. I'm still bleeding. Is this normal? When can I douche or take a bath? I feel gross and its foul smelling.
Contact your GYN: While some discharge may be present for up to 4 weeks after a LEEP procedure, we really expect bleeding to stop by the 2 week mark. Most would allow bathing after two weeks (showering before), but no douching. I believe your doctor would want to know you are still bleeding. Please contact her. Good wishes:)
I had a leep procedure done 10 days ago and I know you are not allowed to have sex but can I masterbate? I'm a little embarrassed I know no sex but I have no pain and no bleeding just wanted to know.
Yes: Yes you can masturbate as long as you don't reach inside and bump your cervix.
I had 2 leeps to remove CIN III. My last procedure was 5 months ago. Since then I have experienced bleeding after sex. No STDs & on birth control.
Need follow up: You should schedule follow up and have the doctor examine your cervix. There may be some scar tissue from the LEEP
