Bleeding After A Colonic
DON'T cleanse!: Healthtap physicians have repeatedly addressed this subject with a clear 'no' answer to colonics. There is virtually no value to colon flushes, cleansers, enemas, irrigation machines when the technique is accomplished to 'detox' or eliminate 'accumulated waste.' bleeding means something is torn, irritated, or inflammed from the colonic. Get checked right away, & don't let them hurt you again. ...Read more

My brother passed two years ago with colon cancer so I'm a bit worried now about the bleeding from my bum.
In and out of hospital for last 2 weeks for colon bleeding diagnosed with diverticulitis but bleeding doesn't stop comes and goes blood count at 7.4 h?
Diverticulosis bleed: It's probably not diverticulitis (an infection). It's probably diverticulosis with a diverticular bleed. A GI specialist should hopefully be able to make the distinction. If the bleeding is severe & recurrent, a surgeon has to remove the affected part of the colon. Your blood counts have to be stable to undergo surgery. Avoid Interventional Radiology; in my experience, it doesn't work for this. ...Read more

Iron has been low for months, don't eat enough of it, doc wants colon& upper GI done. Have no bleeding, 7neg stool cards, why even do those tests?
Sounds like your GI tract is not absorbing iron and that is why your doctor wants further testing. Low iron can be a result of blood loss, which you do not have, or improper absorption.
A problem with absorbing iron can be diagnosed sometimes with blood testing but often times requires endoscopy. Ask your doctor if celiac disease is a possibility. ...Read more
