Embryo Transfer (Definition)

Embryo transfer (also et, set. Fet, etc) refers to placing one or more human embryo(s) (multi-cell or blastocyst) into the uterus of a woman trying to become pregnant. Et is the final step in an ivf cycle, and is done in some other circumstances as well. It is extremely safe, mostly comfortable, and usually not technically difficult. Experts agree on its importance, but ...Read more

3 days of bleeding after embryo transfer is it still safe?

3 days of bleeding after embryo transfer is it still safe?

Probably: Bleeding 3 days post transfer can be caused by a friable, or cervix that's bleed easy, a small bleed behind the gestational sac, following intercourse, the loss of a twin and/or signs of an early miscarriage and a difficult et. If you have any bleeding, contact your doctor immediately. And remember, it may not be a bad sign. Probably would consider starting Progesterone to help quiet the uterus. ...Read more

Bleeding on day 11 after embryo transfer. Should i be worried?

Bleeding on day 11 after embryo transfer. Should i be worried?

Possibly: Although up to 23% of women can bleed in early pregnancy, bleeding 11 days after embryo transfer may indicate that the transfer was not successul and you are not pregnant and/or an early sign of a miscarriage or what is called a biochemical pregnancy. You should get a blood HCG level to help determine what is going on. Failed implantation and/or miscarriages are more common as women get older. ...Read more

I have done IVF and I'm in day 12 after embryo transfer. I 'm bleeding and pains comes and goes. How can I know the embryo is falling out? Thank u

Always a possibility: Honestly, by day 12 after et, you should have already done a pregnancy test and know whether ivf was successful or not. If the test was positive, that is a good sign and sometimes the bleeding is do to losing a twin or a tear in a small cervical or uterine vessel. Unfortunately, these are less likely and ivf probably did not work. The pg test is the key. Good luck and I hope this helps. ...Read more

Possible: An HCG level of 29 is pretty low. It may indicate the presence of a biochemical pregnancy. Your bleeding is an indication of a non successful cycle. You will have better success next time. Keep positive. Try again! ...Read more

11 days post embryo transfer now having period like bleeding. My clinic says uterus still looks good and is thick, they did a blood test. Preg or no?

Patience...: Patience is a valuable virtue. Hopefully, things are ok. A urine or blood pregnancy test will give a reliable result in 10 days (making it unlikely to be a false negative if it is negative). Hope it will be a positive, but we should not give it another thought until then. Instead, sit back and try to enjoy everything else in life, as we should not rush these things. ...Read more

I am on my 14th day post embryo transfer. My hcg is 35 and my progesterone is 13. And I am bleeding a lil bit today. Is this normal?

Congratulations: Don't know if a day 3 or day 5 transfer was made but a single bHCG is not predictive, so you need a second to see the direction of the change. 35 says you are pregnant! Your progesterone should be higher though. I would recommend you call your doctor immediately to report the bleeding and get a status report. Good luck. ...Read more

If the Hcg titre is 78.87, measured 12 days after embryo transfer of 2 embryos, 3day post fertilisation, both are8 cells. Is this level good or low?

Very early: It is good that you have a positive pregnancy test. Not many other conclusions can be made form this limited information. Usually the doctors will check the BHCG over a few days to establish a normally rising trend. Eventually ultrasound will be done to verify a normal pregnancy ...Read more

Four days after embryo transfer the estrogen level is 950. Is this normal?

Four days after embryo transfer the estrogen level is 950. Is this normal?

Not sure: Generally, nine days after an embryo transfer, you draw your blood for a HCG level. Most clinics do not measure estrogen. If the results are low, it is generally indicative that you may not be pregnant. At our clinic, even if the levels are low, we repeat them in 3-4 days, "just to be sure". Sometimes, but not often, low e2 or HCG levels can result in a good pregnancy. Good luck. ...Read more
