Hematuria: Although blood in the urine is never "normal", there are many possible causes that are relatively benign. Sounds like the lower urinary tract has been adequately evaluated. I would recommend a renal evaluation at this point. A nephrologist would be a good start. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Fiber and Magnesium: Try adding several tablespoonfuls of psyllium husks (Konsyl) to your daily regimen. Mix and drink fast, as it will solidify in the glass otherwise. Follow with another glass of water. Do this daily. Add magnesium to your diet, as well--500-1500 mg per day. You can't overdose on magnesium, because it will give you diarrhea. Find the dose that's right for you. ...Read more
No, it shouldn't: Kidney stones shouldn't directly stop a bowel movement. Kidney stones are however very painful and one may be afraid to force down during a bowel movement for fear of more pain. Also pain medications, such as narcotics can cause constipation. Kidney stones itself have no direct relationship with the bowel. They can pass only via the urine-not stool.Hope this helps! ...Read more

Acute constipation. Hard to pass stool. Took miralax (polyethylene glycol) 3x since yesterday, only passed a few pebbles. Abdom and rectal pain. Colon cancer in family.Help?
Constipation: First, constipation by itself is not a specific sign of colon cancer & colon cancer is very unlikely at age 21. Drink more water. Eat much less solid food until the constipation resolves. Can try suppository or enema too. Try stronger laxative like magnesium citrate. Avoid this problem by eating right, avoid junk food & excess alcohol, eat more fruits & vegetables, add metamucil. See your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Retained feces: If there was an actual bowel obstruction it would likely cause extreme pain. However with this length of constipation you may have retained feces at a higher level then your finger's reach. Don't know if the blood on your finger was related to trauma in introducing the finger. Other causes of rectal bleeding include hemorrhoids, fissure, fistula, cancer, or bowel infection/ inflammation. >>. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
