Hi I quit Zoloft (sertraline) and have mild dizziness, just wondering why? is it effecting my blood pressure? was only on 25mg per day for 1 year. Thanks

Stopped sertraline: unlear when or why u stopped setraline - which may be relevant. sometimes when an SSRI is stopped, there may be a mild adjustment this change, and some pts report dizziness during this adjustment time. Dizziness is also a symptom of anxiety, so could be resurgence of anxiety symptoms. finally, could be unrelated. Schedule a visit with ur doc to discuss & receive the proper diagnosis & treatment ...Read more

Can rispredal Zoloft Buspar (buspirone) Lower my Pressure because wheni i race The dose from 50 to 75mg Zoloft and 20 to 30 Buspar (buspirone) my pressure went down to 100/59?

Possible: … but unlikely. A very mild decrease in blood pressure has been seen with some SSRIs, but your pressure of 100/59 suggests a greater effect than what is customarily seen. Neither buspirone or risperidone have been implicated in drops in blood pressure. Look for other reasons. ...Read more

See your doctor: These are very common side effects for these medications which should diminish to the point you can tolerate them by 1-2 wks. I am assuming that since you are posing this question on Healthtap that these symptoms are still. Very bothersome. Discuss with you doctor possible dose change or alternate med(s). Thank you for using HealthTap as a resource. We are here to help when you don't know what yo ...Read more

Can hydroxyzine help with the head pressure symptom of a panic attack? I'm also taking Zoloft (sertraline) 50mg. Is this a good combination?

Can hydroxyzine help with the head pressure symptom of a panic attack? I'm also taking Zoloft (sertraline) 50mg. Is this a good combination?

It can!: Hydroxyzine has a sedative effect, generally a very strong one depending on the dose. That is, the more Hydroxyzine the greater the sedation. Combining medications is always a process that deserves attention because you want to avoid interactions. In this case there is no concern with zoloft (sertraline) and hydroxyzine. However, you want to be careful with metoprolol and zoloft (sertraline). ...Read more
