I removed my toenail polish after a month n both toenails had a black spot. I haven't dropped anything on my toe&its not painful. Wat could the mark be?

I have a small black spot under my big toenail on my right foot. It's only been there for about 2/3 weeks. I haven't banged it.
This could be a melanoma.: Although this is relatively unlikely, it is the only potentially serious diagnosis that would concern me. I would circle it with a sharpie, but not mark directly over it. Although the nail grows slowly, this may aid your physician in making an accurate diagnosis. A melanoma will not move with the nail. In any case, you should not ignore it. ...Read more

There is a blue/black spot under my big toenail and I don't know what it is. I removed my nail polish today and saw it, and am now very concerned.?
Photo documentation.: A black/ blue spot under the nail in a 16 year old is probably nothing more than a bit of dried blood trapped under the nail. This could be the consequence of a minor bump of the toe of a pressure injury. Without actually seeing it, I guess it could be something else, but I doubt it. To remove all concern, you might have a physician take a look at it. ...Read more
