Black stool: Can be caused by blood, certain foods, or medications such as iron, bismuth, or charcoal. To know for sure, you need to test stool for occult blood. If you did not ingest any of these foods or meds, you should seek medical attention.

Black oil spot in toilet when having bowel movement. On weight watchers eating fish three times a week?

Black oil spot in toilet when having bowel movement. On weight watchers eating fish three times a week?

When you say: "black oil spot" the concerning thing it brings to mind is melena: black "tarry" feces associated with upper gastrointestinal bleeding. This is such a concerning sign, that even if it is something else, which it might be, you have to be checked out for upper GI bleeding. Weight Watchers is a good idea; I don't think it has anything to do with eating fish. See you doctor ASAP for eval. Good wishes.

Undigested food: If you do use black pepper it could be undigested and appear in your stool. If you do not think is part of what you ingested or if you have symptoms then you need to have the sample analysed for cytology or o and p.

Need an exam: I am concerned about the color change of your bowel movement, in association with several weeks of abdominal pain. It is necessary for you to have an abdominal exam plus medical evaluation right away. Lab work and probable CT scan will be ordered. Please take care of yourself. Good luck.

Cancer not likely: It is highly unlikely that what you described is due to cancer. In fact you stool is probably normal. Unless you have a close family member who got colon cancer in his/her twenties, you do not need to be concerned.
