That's the problem: Tobacco companies producing e-cigs have not had to do any research because courts ruled that it is just another kind of cigarette, and the fda has no jurisdiction. The propellant is propylene glycol, which is in an oil. What this does when inhaled is simply unknown in humans. Flavor = Risk: The risk is in the liquid. How much safer are tobacco flavored liquids? Probably some but you are still inhaling tobacco. Non-tobacco flavors are PROBABLY safer but it’s one thing to eat strawberries, it’s quite another to inhale them. We do not know the long-term effects of inhaling strawberries. It is not likely to have any ill-effects. Overcooking does damage some nutrients and you may wish to invest in a rice cooker.
