Had period for 3 days instead of 5 and on the 4day it wasn't blood it was black, can u tell me why this is so?

Probably normal: Menstrual flow can vary from month to month. So having a 3 day menstrual flow instead of 5 is normal. Also having black flow is normal. Black just means that your normal menstrual blood clotted. Nothing to worry about.

Irregular period: Many things cause irregular periods. If you were having unprotected sex it is possible this was a mild miscarriage. It could also be due to normal life stressors. You should reset to a normal period within the next two months. If you miss your next period, take a home pregnancy test. For any other concerns please see you doctor.

Old Blood: This is more common when changing hormonal contraception or from endometrium that didn't shed with the previous cycle. Old endometrium or old blood is darker, often stickier & is not a problem unless it persists. After 3 similar menstrual cycles with dark black blood, see your gyn for an eval. Take care.
