Yes and yes: As you get older, have more risk factors, or if something looks odd on the first ultrasound, a higher level ultrasound can be done to look for more advanced and subtle issues. Some genetic conditions, though, can only be found by sampling genetic material. An ultrasound at 22 weeks may not show a significant amount of smaller congenital defects but if something looks amiss, they may do one later. ...Read more

I'm not sure!: I am just not sure what the "integrated test" is. And this is not a criticism of you at all. The words in medicine and especially in genetics are crazy hard to understand properly. And sometimes their meanings change! i would be very pleased if you could find out a bit more about this test, including the lab that performs it, and ask once more. Btw, no test or procedure finds all birth defects. ...Read more
