May not be: If you're referring to the hba1c test, 6.0% may indicate a pre-diabetes condition if you don't already have a history of this or diabetes. If you have diabetes, then 6.0% indicates good blood sugar control overall (provided you aren't having lots of low blood sugars mixed in with high blood sugars). ...Read more

Not really: Hi. It's so easy, it's like falling outta bed! Hands should be clean, but unless you have a dirty job, no one washes just for testing if your hands are reasonably clean. Don't dip your fingers in honey over the test site; glucose on the skin would, of course, influence results. Otherwise, no special routine. 3 hour glucose test results: fasting was 89, thirty minutes was 180, one hour was 198, two hour was 64.... what does this tell me?
Normal: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that.
