Yes: the smoking ritual itself, whether cigarettes, pipes or tobacco produces a psychological dependency, and the nicotine is absorbed through the mucous membranes of the mouth even in those who don't inhale. Blu electronic cigarette bad for health?

Blu electronic cigarette bad for health?

Yes: the question isn't whether they are harmful - nicotine is addictive, causes blood vessels to constrict and reduces blood flow to heart, brain and vital organs, and is what causes the vascular problems related to smoking. There are less "tars, " but nobody knows what the propellant (propylene glycol), flavorings, preservatives and other additives do, either short-term or long-term at this point. ...Read more

How does pipe smoking affect health compared to cigarette smoking?

How does pipe smoking affect health compared to cigarette smoking?

It's still tobacco: Pipe smokers get more in the way of cancer of the mouth, iips, tongue, mouth and throat, including the larynx, than do cigarette smokers, but less lung cancer and heart disease, because they usually do not inhale the smoke. However, nicotine is absorbed from oral mucous membranes, so addiction to nicotine and many of the cardiac problems still occur. ...Read more

Does smoking cigarettes improve your focus and memory? Btw i'm a non smoker and an aspiring architect. All architects smoke :p

Does smoking cigarettes improve your focus and memory? Btw i'm a non smoker and an aspiring architect. All architects smoke :p

No, but . . .: Long ago, even the cancer doctors smoked. It's just an addiction, so won't improve focus, memory, or anything else. But, once a person is addicted, his cravings will bother him constantly, until he gets his next smoke. That is why the addicted smokers need to smoke to bring their focus back up to normal (they've messed themselves up by getting addicted). One avoids that problem by never smoking. ...Read more

E-cigs vs. Regular cigarettes, which is better?

E-cigs vs. Regular cigarettes, which is better?

Hard to say: To me it's like saying 'should i shoot myself in the head with a 22 pistol or a 45?' i wouldn't recommend either, but statistically the 22 is less likely to kill you and cause brain damage. Nobody really knows the long-term health impact of e-cigs, because it hasn't been studied. It contains propylene glycol, oils, flavorings and additives, in addition to nicotine, and we don't really know effects. ...Read more
