Does the oldest child decide on a parents burial and medical decisions?

Does the oldest child decide on a parents burial and medical decisions?

Not necessarily: Hopefully this has been decided by your parents before it is necessary. That is what a will is for. Parents usually choose the child who they feel should be in charge and that may or may not be the oldest. Being firstborn doesn't rest that responsibility on one just by virtue of birth order...Unless you are an only child. ...Read more

Yes, detrimental: See if there is a dental school near you. The treatment is much less expensive -- what you save in money, you pay in time. It takes longer for treatment. You also might find a clinic at a hospital that has a teaching program for postdoctoral dental training. (gpr or aegd). Good luck -- no burial yet! ...Read more

Every time I pay a doctors bill before insurance does, it seems nearly impossible to get refunded. What is best?

Every time I pay a doctors bill before insurance does, it seems nearly impossible to get refunded. What is best?

Wait for insurance: Don't pay before insurance completes their transaction. By contract, the physician or hospital must accept the insurance maximum for that service. This means the overall charge may be reduced. Wait for the insurance to pay the doctor first or call the insurance company to verify your obligation. After insurance pays, you will get a revised bill. If you are due a refund, demand it - it's the law. ...Read more

Need more info: Hi. We need more information. Why were you prescribed Spironolactone instead of some other BP medicine? Did you have low blood potassium and high blood pressure? If so, and it's due to the adrenal steroid, Aldosterone, if adrenal surgery is not an option, Spironolactone (or preferably Eplerenone) is the best drug. Spironolactone blocks testosterone (undesirable in guys) but Eplerinone does not. ...Read more

Do chain pharmacies bill people without insurance more for the same drug than they charge the insurance companies of people with it? Do they negotiate with insurers this way, the same way doctors do?

Yes: Pharmacies pay different amounts for the drugs based upon order volume the same as any other company would. Pharmacies do offer discounts to insurance companies based upon volume and contracts.
