Bile is a digrestive detergent that emulsifies fats; is made in liver, stored in gallbladder, travels down ducts, put into small bowel in duodenum, just past the stomach-in the duodenum.
It should head south, i.e. Down intestine. Can reflux up into stomach; uncommonly can also reflux up into lower esophagus; even less common into throat.

I suffer from Bile Reflux, I do not respond to PPI's. My gastro does not want to perform surgery as no Barrett's exists, but my throat hurts daily and that's is taking 40 mg Aciphex daily. Should I consider Nissen Fundoplication? This is frustrating.

Had cholecystectomy 2 months taking sucralfate for a week for bile reflux. Really bad chest pain and sore throat. How long for sucralfate to work?

Bright red Blood in stool could be from Hemorrhoids or Diverticulosis. Confirmed by Direct exam like Flex Sig, or Colonoscopy.
With Horse voice and Vomiting and Bitter taste are all suggestive of Esophagitis from Reflux of Gastric Acid. For this you need Upper Endoscopy.
Please stop smoking. Try OTC Pepcid (famotidine) or Omeprazole.
