Is hair removal using laser harmful? Waxing hurts a lot & shaving isn't good either. I do all areas (hands, legs, bikini, armpit, face & neck). Thnx.
Hair removal is either temporary, like tweezing, waxing or shaving, or permanent, in which the follicles are destroyed by electrolysis or a laser/light system. Very popular these days to reduce the density of hair in an area by laser hair removal. It needs to be repeated in a series to affect as many follicles as ...Read more
Hello, I am looking for a full bikini diode laser hair removal and i need to know if the diode laser will affect my genitals or cause any infertility.
Can I use hair removal cream around my genital area , i'm a female. Is there a specific cream for that area?
No: The skin in the pubic area is too delicate. If you use the normal hair remover cream or wax, it may cause serious irritation and pain increasing the risk of skin infection. There are specialized products for that area. Better yet, have it waxed by at a salon/spa. They can do a better job, have the right products, and can take care of any irritation that may develop. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Long enough...: ...For the wax to adhere to the hair shafts - which isn't very long - but the longer it is, the more hairs will be removed. Yes, it is safe to do repeatedly - but if you have a lot of hair and expect to be doing it frequently, consider going to a dermatologist (not a spa!) for laser hair removal, which is more or less permanent, and cheaper in the long run. ...Read more

Can i do peeling for the bikini area to treat hyperpimentation caused by laser hair removal treatment in between sessions ?
Yes but...: You can do peels in between the laser treatments, but it may not help with the hyper pigmentation. PIH is "post inflammatory" and the peel may aggravate that. Probably a better option for you would be to use a cream that contains both a bleaching agent (like hydroquinone) and a low dose steroid. www.OmahaCosmeticSurgery.com ...Read more
Should I use emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) cream prior to laser hair removal on my bikini area?
EMLA (lidocaine and prilocaine) Helps: Emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) or topical anesthetics can be tremendously helpful for hair removal laser treatments. However, the better lasers have a "cryogen" spray cooling device attached to the laser hand piece that will also alleviate the discomfort. Also, there are newer lasers that are faster and thus cause less pain when zapping your hairs away. ...Read more
Where could i buy emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) cream to use prior to laser hair removal on my bikini area?
Pharmacy: I believe that the topical anesthetic Emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) is only available by prescription in the usa. With a prescription, you should have no difficulty obtaining it from a local pharmacy. Alternatively, you can buy Lidocaine 5% topical anesthetic over the counter (e.g. Amazon). Make sure to follow the directions. It is absorbed by the skin - too much can be toxic. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm scheduled for laser hair removal i'm the bikini area. I was recently told I have abnormal cervix cells (lsil). Is laser treatment bad for this?
Laser hair removal: In any area does not utilize ionizing radiation, and the laser energy penetrates only a mm or two, so there is never any risk of deeper tissue damage or concern. I got my 2nd setting for hair removal laser. And after this setting, itching started in my bikini and axilla. Should I continue laser??
Reaction after laser: Having a localized reaction after a hair removal laser session is normal. Slight redness is common and the itching is most likely due to inflammation and a localized histamine response to the treated area. If it persists I would see your laser provider but it should be gone within 24 to 4$ hours. You should be able to have your next treatment without difficulty. ...Read more
