Surgery on my right foot 9 weeks ago for bone spurs. Suspect nerve impingent, pain to left of scar. Started PT, now have bruising by big toe?
If you had surgery: I would recommend that you see your surgeon in follow up
Where is it???: I know it seems like an obvious question, but depending on exactly where the spur is at, there can be a number of possible answers. Sorry!See 3 more doctor answers
Midfoot bone spurs - are a cause of overpronation and plantar fasciitis? My running progress is hindered by foot issues, should I get surgery?
Bone spurs: Not necessarily. I recommend you have an evaluation with a sports medicine doctor or rehab doctor first. I doubt surgery is the answer.
I'm 7 weeks post hallux rigidus surgery/bone spur removal. Having a lot of burning on top of foot along with tightness and deep redness especially at?
Possible nerve issue: If you have had this feeling since the surgery sometimes the nerves in the skin are irritated. If it is new it could indicate infection or scar adhesions. If the redness is spreading out from your incision you should follow up with the surgeon as you may need antibiotics. If the scar is tight and skin is immobile you can do circular massage or use scar creams.
Bone spurs on big toe. Other than surgery, is their a way to dissolve them or alternative treatment? Pain when I fully bend, or wear high heels.
Only if painful: Otherwise you can ignore....Get a more detailed answer ›
Best??: If you can be comfortable with a change in shoes or a pad - good. If padding or shoe change does not work other conservative measures are not likely to work either. Surgery would then be your best course.
Pain at the base of my big toe when I bend it, I thought it was just dry skin but I fixed that and still pain. Do I have a bone spur or what?
Perhaps you: Have pain as a result of having a funtional hallux limitus and so the mpj doesn't flex well and more pressure gets placed on the bottom portion of the toe. That's something i'd look at.See 1 more doctor answer
Are bone spurs at the base of big toe (bottom) related to turf toe? Feel like spur needs soft cushion, but turf toe calls for hard extension. Confused
Turf toe is more of: A sprain of the ligaments around that joint. Spurring around the joint is something that develops gradually over time and reduce the available range of motion of the joint. At some point in time, spurs need to be removed surgically before more damage is done to the interior of the joint. Turf toe is an acute injury that takes time and protection to heal.See 1 more doctor answer
I'm 7.5 weeks post hallux rigidus and bone spur removal. The tip and underside of big toe is numb and tingles. Also my big toe now touches the 2nd to?
When will I be able to get a pedicure after cheilectomy and bone spur removal on the big toe joint?
???: Assuming you are recovering from the surgery with a bandage, you should wait until it isfully removed. I really do not see any reason why you can't get pedicures after foot surgery. Ask your surgeon.
Is it unusual to have multiple areas with bone spurs? I've got or had them in my hand, heel, elbow, hips, big toe... I'm just a bone grower :-d
Consult: I suggest you see a rheumatologist. You need to be tested to see if you have a systemic problem causing these spurs.See 2 more doctor answers
Burning top of foot near big toe where stretched nerve years ago after broken ankle. Also bone spurs in ball of foot. What to do for burning pain?
Broke ankle/stretched nerve in '92. Have burning pain at top of foot/big toe area. OA in ball of foot. Can a bone spur cause friction with a nerve?
Definately: You may have anterior tarsal tunnel syndrome.
Stretched nerve to big toe in '92 ankle fracture. About 15 yrs later, bone spur under big toe ball of ft. Top of foot burns now. Did nerve "wake up"?
Bone spur on metatarsal, treated with cortisone, now foot is swollen ankle to toes, painful to stand or walk. What should I do now?
Determine cause: Protecting the area from excessive shoe pressure is often helpful. Wider and more supportive shoes can also help. Orthotic inserts in shoes can improve poor biomechanics. It is best to determine reason for the spur to have occurred to treat properly.
