Big toe is peeling badly. The middle of toe is pink and towards the edges there is more skin than in the middle. I put on lotion but its not fixing it?

More than dry skin: Such accumulation of dry skin may be an eczematous process. We must consider that the skin in this area is inflamed and turning over at a rapid rate. Things that can cause this include psoriasis, irritation, athlete's foot etc. If the peeling skin is near the nail, than it is related to an infection of this area. ...Read more

Shock feeling on foot, when I touch a vein at top of foot, I feel the shock further down my foot towards big toe.?

Shock feeling on foot, when I touch a vein at top of foot, I feel the shock further down my foot towards big toe.?

Shocking.: Sounds like a neuralgia type problem. The nerve on the top of the foot has been damaged or irritated and is sending impulses down the nerve route when stimulated. You need to consider just what may have irritated the nerve. Could be something as simple as an ill-fitting shoe. If the condition does not improve, a visit to the doctor may be helpful. Hi. My mother has constant pain in her left foot metatarsal bone which worsens with excessive walking. Her second toe also seems to be bending towards the big toe.

Why are you waiting?: The symptoms that your mother is having leads one to believe that there is likely a problem and left untreated it may become a serious problem. The second toe migrating to the big toe is problematic in that swelling or tissue rupture may be the cause. There is also the possibility of a stress fracture. My big toe narrows toward the front and squeezes my toe. What could this be. My toenails are jacked up in the middle?

Possibly a bone spur: Sometime when you have a curved toenail in the edge there can be a bone spur at the center causing it to lift up. The best option is to get an x-ray to verify. If it is only ingrown nail there are many treatment options. To learn more here is a link

Broke foot per ER doc. Big toe points toward others slightly. Getting a cam walker but should I buddy tape big toe to next toe. In a lot of pain still.

Depends: Hi--
so it depends on what is broken. It appears as if you have a slight bunion deformity...The "big toe points toward others"--nothing to worry about as long as it is not the big toe that is broken and/or big toe is not painful. We do not buddy tape big toes and splinting is not really appropriate for bunions. Let me know what bone is broken and we can go further with options. ...Read more

My son and his fathers second toes slightly curve toward third like in mybprofike pic is my sons foot. Is this hereditary?

Yes it is: This is seen in my practice frequently. The growth plate in the toe due to hereditary reasons, grows unevenly creating a curvature of the long bone (phalanx). Hopefully there will be no symptoms. A possible friction may develop to the adjacent toe. Moleskin, lambswool and or foot powder may help. Hopefully bone resection or hammertoe procedures will never be needed. ...Read more
