I have a artificial knee my other knee has arthritis & need to get my big toe fused what kind of exercises can I do that won't cause too much pain?
No impact activities: Both artificial joints and arthritic joint cannot tolerate impact. Impact activities include anything with running & jumping. Low impact activities include bike riding, swimming, water aerobics, walking, elliptical machines, etc. I would anticipate that the knees would not tolerate lots of squatting and bending. Possibly: Ankle swelling certainly could be an indication of arthritis. Alternatively, if there has been a recent injury, trauma can cause swelling as well. I suspect arthritis: This type of involvement suggests a dactylitis, and the most common cause of dactylitis can be psoriatic arthritis. It can be something else and it depends on what joints are involved. But if the whole toe is swollen and not just one joint i suspect dactylitis.
