I went from 40 mg betapace (sotalol) 2x a day to 40mg at night. Will 40mg provide any real benefits since normal dose is 80 mg 2 daily?
I am on betapace (sotalol) for a - tachycardia. Not very good at keeping BP controlled or spike in BP from anxiety. Switch b-blocker? I also take cozaar
Work on anxiety: Betapace=sotalol is used for arrythmias insead of BP. I suggest Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with with mindfulness training for the anxiety. There are beta blockers that are more effective for BP and can help with atrial tachycardia, but ultimately you should have this discussion with your cardiologist. Cozaar (losartan) max dose is 100mg daily, so this could be adjusted if you are on lower dose. ...Read more

BP control: Be aware that it is not unusual to be on 2-3 different blood pressure medicines to achieve a good BP control. 75% of North Americans with hypertension take 3 BP meds max dose! Is 200mg of COq 10 safe and effective for lowering blood pressure? Current meds are Zoloft losartan betapace and nexium (esomeprazole). Any interactions?
There are two forms: of CoQ10. Neither has been regulated by the FDA. (One form appears to have more antioxidant properties). Several conditions have been associated with low CoQ10 levels including HTN, heart failure, certain cancers, gingivitis, gastric ulcers, etc. Currently there has not been a consensus arrived at as to the BP lowering effects (due to lack of controlled studies). May affect Zoloft (sertraline) level a bit. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
