Beta H Cg After Miscarriage
Ok: Most ivf clinics only measure HCG levels approximately 9 days after a day 5 embryo transfer. However, some clinics feel that the combination of HCG levels and Progesterone levels have a more predictive value of a good pregnancy than HCG levels alone. Personally, we only measure hcg. Hope this helps and good luck. ...Read more
Possible Pregnancy: Whatever clots or specimen you had when you had the miscarriage should have been examined by the pathologist to determine the presence of embryonic or fetal parts because otherwise the HCG elevation means you still have the conceptus/embryonic/fetal parts inside you. Other possibility is a growing tumor that is secreting hcg. ...Read more
Not sure: Hard to say what slow means. Did you have a d;c or miscarry naturally. The level should become zero in a week or two after a spontaneous miscarriage but it depends on how high the level was when it started. ...Read more

18,32,62 hCG levels progesterone 49,16,23 have had heavy bleeding with clots is this a miscarriage?
Looks like you are: Miscarrying. Unfortunately I have no idea how many weeks you are, and I also don't know if there was ever an ultrasound done to confirm an intrauterine embryo, and whether or not fetal heart tones were detected. I see you posted this question many hours ago, so I suspect you have sought emergency care already. If you haven't, please do. Wishing you the best. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Blighted ovum or potential ectopic? My HCG levels doubled, then dropped twice before rising again. OBGYN is recommending methotrexate.
Good idea: After multiple lab examinations, if there is still nothing seen in the uterus and a rising HCG, you most certainly have an abnormal pregnancy that should be actively managed. A dilation and curettage would help to figure out if the abnormal pregnancy was in the uterus. If it was confirmed that it was not in the uterus, then methotrexate would be a good idea along with continued lab follow up. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Missed miscarriage at week 8, baby lost heart beat. Induced miscarriage with cytote 3 weeks ago, now hcg level 300( was 337 two days ago), need D&C?
Probably...: Cytotec (misoprostol) will usually cause you to pass the tissue left in your uterus. If it doesn't, a D&C is frequently performed. Its also a good idea to continue repeating the HCG level after the D&C until it is zero. This will ensure that there is no other problems related to the miscarriage such as gestational trophoblastic disease. Best Wishes! ...Read more

Home pregnancy test was positive but blood hCG came back negative. Ob perform a blood test again. Hcg 750 progesterone 21. Why first hCG was negative?
Lab error: Presuming the first blood pregnancy test was close to the second, one of them had to be a lab error, probably the first one that was negative. If there is any question about the health of the pregnancy, your doctor can follow the bhcg level to see if it is rising appropriately and obtain an ultrasound when the level is high enough. For more info www.Askyourgynecologist.Org. ...Read more
