Best Way To Lower Heart Rate
What is the best way to lower a person's heart rate back to 60-100 beats per minute if that person has a BPM of 320 from caffeine? Thanks!
Not caffeine: When you say, "bpm of 320 from caffeine" I am assuming that you are saying your heart rate is 320 beats per minute. A heart rate that fast is not simply the stimulate effects of caffeine. If your heart rate is 320 bpm, you need emergency evaluation today for arrhythmia due to an abnormal mechanism. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What's your target?: I am assuming you are talking about target zones base on maximal heart rate during exercise. Target zones are use to plan an exercise routine depending on your goals. My average heart rate even at rest is as high as 90 to 100 bpm, what is the best way to reduce it to about 70?
Why?: Your heart is regulated by a system of fine neurohumoral mechanisms - why are you trying to defeat them? If your resting hr is 90-100, there's a reason for it. That said, generally the better shape you're in, the slower your resting hr so working out and being keeping body mass index 18-25 will usually do the trick. Fever, anemia, anxiety, stress, exercise, xs thyroid etc. Increases it. ...Read more

Is there a way I can naturally lower my heart rate. I exercise everyday, and eat right, yet it still dangerously high as in 100+.
I suggest seeing PCP: and may be a Cardiologist to ensure there are NO heart issues, if your Heart rate stays in the hundreds. Get it checked. Forget the natural ways of reducing it, till you get it checked. Another possibility is a thyroid problem, which your PCP would be able to Diagnose and deal with. Good Luck. ...Read more
Heart rate shoots up randomly while sitting or standing the only way to lower it is to lay down on my side then it returns to normal.
Cardiologist: I would recommend speaking to your doctor about referring you to a cardiologist. That doc may consider a 24 monitor which records the electrical activity of the heart for 24 hrs. If a recording of the increase in heart rate can be gotten, then the cardiologist can figure out what the cause is and treat it. ...Read more
