Can I take vitafusion brand prenatal, and nature made brand vitamin c and spring valley brand biotin together everyday?
Probably: I can't really answer about the safety of taking those specific brands together because we really don't have enough information to accurately compare one brand against another.Manufacture of vitamins/supplements is not regulated; often they don't measure up to the label. OK to take prenatals, Vit C and biotic together; not sure you need last two.I would identify one "good" brand and buy/take those ...Read more
Vitamin D3: Any brand will do. If you have access to Costco, buy pills of 5000 units and take one every day for three months. After that reduce the dose to about 2000 units/day. it may be beneficial to add a multivitamin to your daily routine. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco or alcohol in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more

Which vitamin brand do you recommend most? Is centrum a good brand? & can everyone take fish oil safely?
Why do you ask?: Somebody else here please correct me if necessary, but i would extremely surprised if this information exists, especially given that each preparation contains many different nutrients each of which is absorbed independent of the compounding. The supplement business is so competitive that each wants to claim (curiously, without having to be truthful) that it offers some advantage. Don't overspend. ...Read more
Could you take prenatal vitamins that contain biotin, choline, inositol, and fumaric acid name of vitamin brand nordic berries?
I do not: Like the formula. They contain 9 grams of carbohydrate and the amount of thiamin (as are the doses of all the vitamins) is too low to metabolize that amount of carb. You can look it up on line. This expresses an incredible ignorance of industry in vitamins and foods. In pregnancy, first you need a pristine diet and the vitamin supplementation should be ordered by your ob/gyn. ...Read more
Neither: Depends on who makes it for them as neither makes their own. You need "mixed tocopherols" to benefit your health not just vit e which is usually just one form of the many and is a synthetic which is cheaper but can lead to bad outcomes. I use pure encapsulations brand, other good quality ones are from orthomolecular, metagenics. Read label and remember you get what you pay for! ...Read more
Depends: Many multivitamins have too much iron and copper in them. Copper and zinc should be in balance, and are competitively absorbed. Many people already have enough copper and insufficient zinc, therefore a supplement with copper is often undesired. Iron can be an oxidative stress on the body, and we do not supplement it unless clearly needed. So read the label to decide. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Is shaklee a trustworthy brand for dietary supplement such as omega 3, calcium, multi-vitamins, b-complex, vitamin c, so on?
Dunno - try & see.: I hear all sorts of experiences with prenatal vitamins from my patients; long story short, you should try some and determine which one works best for you (as far as least nausea and maximum tolerability). The most important prenatal vitamin component is not dha or anything else, rather it is folic acid! take 1-5 mg orally daily for all of your reproductive life! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
All good: There is no preferred brand of PNV's. They are all adequate. Probably the best one for any individual is one that she can tolerate well. It is important to have the necessary vitamins and minerals in the diet during pregnancy so some type of vitamin is recommended - but not any specific one. ...Read more
No better or worse: When it comes to multivitamins & mineral supplements, you don't need fancy labels & brands. Yes, there are claims re solubility etc but bottom line, there aren't even any studies showing clinical benefit from multivtamins. With that said, rather than worry about brand names & labels (aside from USP DSVP), ask your family doc to measure 25OH vitamin D. Keep it over 30ng/mL to protect your bones. ...Read more
