Best Vegan Probiotic
I'm vegan and i take b complex but i was wondering if i can also get it from food? Also do probiotics in our bodies really make the b12?
B12: B12 principally derives from animal sources and eggs. Dairy has little. Select soy can provide some. More vegan foods are being supplemented with B12, as B12 deficiency is common among vegans. Check with your favorite health food store. Probiotics will not enhance b12 uptake. See www.vegetarian.org.uk/factsheets/b12factsheet.html ...Read more
Probiotics, by definition, are beneficial bacteria that live in our intestinal tract to help us maintain health intestines and colon. There are several species of these bacteria that are helpful to us including lactobacillus acidophilus. The meats we eat contain antibiotics that kill our natural bacteria that reside in our gut. Today, you will replace these ...Read more
I'm 23 years old n suffering from acne! i eat well no refined sugars no gluten no dairy and im vegan n take probiorics n supplements n i'm very active?
Diet's not the key: I'm sorry you were misled. Acne is basically unrelated to diet. If you were assured that being "vegan" or being "gluten free" would help your acne, perhaps this will help you understand that much of what these people have told you isn't true. If topical benzoyl peroxide hasn't cleared you in two weeks, get with your personal physician for Rx and workup for possible hormonal imbalance. ...Read more
When is the best time time of day to take probiotics? Before, during, after meals? Does it even matter?
Best with meals: Very good question. There is much confusion around this topic & many probiotics incorrectly advise on the label to take on an empty stomach, but the limited research that exists suggests that taking probiotics with a meal is best. Stomach acid kills many probiotics and eating reduces the acid, increasing survival. See http://nutritionfacts.org/2014/01/02/how-should-i-take-probiotics/ ...Read more

Is it ok to take a probiotic while on nexium (esomeprazole), (esomeprazole) if so when is the best time to take probiotic pill, before or after taking nexium (esomeprazole)?
Yes: I'd take it in the morning. Typically Nexium (esomeprazole) is best taken at night (basal levels of acid are highest at night, so Nexium (esomeprazole) should have its greatest effect, so the theory goes...). So if you take the probiotic during the day, direct effects of either substance on the other is minimized. ...Read more

Wrong diagnosis?: Could your symptoms reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks). No one knows!: This is a good question that it impossible to answer at this time; not nearly enough research has been done. Some studies have found benefits of lactobacilli ; bifidobacteria but there are many different strains ; no one has compared different brands. Research suggests sacchromyces boulardii does not help unless you are on antibiotics. See http://www.Bastyrcenter.Org/content/view/1268/ ; comment:. ...Read more

Starting vls3 probiotics for diverticulitis,I need a recomindation dosage and what's the best time to take them?
No specifics to give: Probiotics is known to help restore normal bacterial flora of intestines if being altered by antibiotic use or poor lifestyle. Its recommended dose is arbitrary so you may take it as advised usually with or before meals from the Company-but at most double it up and see since individual tolerance widely varies among people. But still remember healthy lifestyle remains the foundation of all care. ...Read more

Would plain low fat yogurt with live & active culture be sufficient as probiotics needed to help with clindamycin. When best time to eat the yogurt. ?
Yes and whenever. : Probiotics are a good idea whenever you're taking antibiotics, and worth continuing for a week or so afterwards. Probiotics: Antibiotics kill off bad bacteria, but also the beneficial bacteria of the bowel . When taking antibiotics and for several months afterward it is a good idea to replace the good bowel bacteria with probiotics daily. You can buy these at your health food store, and ask for probiotics that can survive being killed off by your stomach acid, so they can survive to reach the colon. ...Read more
