?shin splints: If the discomfort is not in the knees but in the lower legs below the knee, these may be shin splints due to overuse and muscle irritation especially brought on by running. Try reducing your running, ice the legs and , if you can take them, nsaids like Ibuprofen or Naproxen may help. Was on cast nov 17, until dec 17 for a oblique fracture on tibia. Started running a month ago and my ankle still hurts as of this day. No therapy was required.. After running for 15 minutes it hurts.

See your surgeon: Again best option is to see your treating orthopedist... Your fracture undoubtedly healed but during casting and 'boot' or cam walker use your ankle was immobilized . You may be having pain because of ankle stiffness or because you began running too quickly or aggressively on bone that is not ready for it( disuse osteopenia can develop even in young adults after tibia fractures).
