What chemical peel is best for clearing up many acne marks/hyper-pigmentation on dark skin?

What chemical peel is best for clearing up many acne marks/hyper-pigmentation on dark skin?

Glycolics are good: Glycolic acid peels are usually gentle enough that you have no real downtime afterward. They are safe for darker skin types and can be great at decreasing the hyperpigmentation that follows inflammation. You will benefit from a series of peels, and they will create a smoother texture, tighter tone, and fresher look for your skin. ...Read more

Hydrogen peroxide/glycolic acid chemical peel that is done to the face for acne, is it safe for the skin in run ?

It can cause issues: It's possible that in the long run too frequent and/or too "strong" a chemic peel can lead to uneven pigmentation, acne/rosacea flares and superficial blood vessel(capillary) damage - aka broken blood vessels. The : The international rosacea foundation (and most other experts) strongly recommend against chemical peels in rosacea patients. The reasoning for this recommendation is that chemical peels tend to increase inflammation and modify the superficial vessels in your skin (both of which are already problematic in rosacea). While you may notice temporary improvement from such treatments, your rosacea will rebound, and in all likelihood it will be worse than before the peel. I've attached a link to a mayo clinic discussion about rosacea. I hope it helps! http://www.Mayoclinic.Com/health/rosacea/ds00308. ...Read more

It : It depends what type of facial or chemical peel you are talking about, but in general i typically recommend that patients stop Retin-A a few days prior to their chemical peel. Again, it depends on the depth and type of peel so i would discuss with your dermatologist. Read more about the vitalize chemical peels i find to be very helpful at the link below. I hope that helps! ...Read more

Would chemical peel be best for getting rid of acne scaring?

Would chemical peel be best for getting rid of acne scaring?

Resurfacing: Skin resurfacing by a chemical peel, laser peel, or dermabrasion will be the only ways to improve on severe acne scaring. Of all of them I prefer dermabrasion for acne scaring because you can "shave" the top of the skin (mountains) more efficiently while leaving the scar tissue (valleys) untouched. This way the difference between the valleys and the mountains is decreased. Hope this helps. ...Read more
