EPA ; DHA: Fish oil and krill oil have 2 major components: epa and dha. Generally people need at least 1-2 grams of epa, and at least 500 mg dha daily. The preparations you were using may not have delivered this much of each component in the capsules you were taking, so you needed more. Please know that if you eat wild alaskan salmon, sardines, etc at least twice each week, you may not need supplements. ...Read more

Fish Oil (Definition)

Fish oils contain two active omega-3 fatty acids, dha and epa. Most fish oil products contain both dha and epa, but supplements enriched in dha or epa are available. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to significantly reduce sudden cardiac death. Some studies also indicate the potential for benefits in dementia and risk of heart attack. The omega-3 content of cold water ...Read more

Is it safe to take a multivitamin, probiotic, fish oil omega-3 supplement, apple cider vinegar, and psyllium husk for fiber together daily?

Yes: These are safe though I wouldn't take them all at once. I advise the multivitamin after breakfast, the probiotic at the start of a meal, the fish oil after lunch or dinner, apple cider vinegar in water separate from meals and the psyllium at bedtime.
Some multivitamins are far better than others- see https://drrandybaker. Com/2012/11/

Wat is the best brand of omega 3 fish oil and how much shoud a 43 yr old female consume daily?

Several good but...: About 2 grams /day. One should choose a fish oil supplement wisely as some brands are much better than others- make sure it's purified ; is in the "true triglyceride" form. My favorites are nordic naturals and omegavail by designs for health. See http://bit. What's a difference between fish oil capsules and omega 3-6-9 capsules? Which ones should I take as a diabetic?

What's a difference between fish oil capsules and omega 3-6-9 capsules? Which ones should I take as a diabetic?

None: Krill oil and fish oil are the new snake oil, both are high in omega 3 fatty acids which are extremely fragile. Omega 3 fish oils reduce triglycerides by impairing the liver's ablility to make them. However the oxidative stress caused by fish oil actually raises LDL cholesterol.
Some day we may use the phrase "this is just more fish /krill oil" or "here comes the fish/krill oil salesman". ...Read more

Should I take fish oil supplements or omega 3-6-9 ones? Which one is better?

Eat wild salmon: It is far healthier to consume omega-3s from a natural source such as wild salmon than from fish oil or synthetic forms. The question is why are you taking this supplement in the first place? To reduce cholesterol? Anti-inflammatory? Anti-coagulant? Brain health? Whatever the reason, wild pacific salmon is still preferable. Don't buy into the hype that the pills are nearly as beneficial. ...Read more

Can I take omega 3 alaskan fish oil while taking warfarin (coumadin)?

Maybe: There are some reported cases of patients who take Coumadin (warfarin) and fish oil who then have an elevated inr, the level which is checked when you're on Coumadin (warfarin) to ensure that it's working and your doses are correct. The interaction is unclear to pharmacologists, so my advice would be to take both and follow your inr carefully. You'd do that regardless of fish oil anyway! ...Read more

Is ieeds to take medicine for LDL cholosterol is 160 & guide us whether omega 3 fish oil gelly suppliments is realy useful to lower LDL & how muc?

You decide: The last several big studies on the efficacy of omega 3 fish oils for preventing vascular disease were all horribly disappointing -- and I wasn't surprised. Some physicians would throw a statin or something at this LDL, others would discuss all options with you & look at other facts about you -- do you have other risks? Would you be open to some serious physical fitness instead? No simple answers. ...Read more

What are the alternatives for getting omega 3 and vit d if you can't take fish oil or dairy and can't sit in sun long due to nature of your job?

Alternative: Vitamin d3 can be taken by mouth. The need is decided by a blood test. Omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids are essential to life and the top of the cascade that leads to omega 3 formation is Alpha linolenic acid, the top of the omega 6 cascade is linoleic acid. Both of these essential oils are present in canola oil. Fish oil supplies eicosapentoic acid (epa) a metabolite of linolenic acid. ...Read more
