Best Scar Fade Cream
Scars can'tdisappear: Sorry, but no cream will make a scar disappear. Scars can be improved with scar massage and, often, a cream will be recommended to facilitate that massage. Cocoa butter has worked very well for my patients as has the more expensive mederma. Sun protection and scar massage are much more important in improving a scar than the nature of the cream you use. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Just had a completion thyroidectomy 9 days ago. Wht is the best cream/brand to use on my fresh scar? Pls help me! its very fresh obvs!
Usually nothing: Post surgical scars and trauma scars can usually do well on there own. There are many products that claim to help, but there is little proof. That being said, many feel they can help. Go to the first aid aisle at any pharmacy. Always remember to not get too much sun exposure on the incision for that first year after surgery (sunscreen). Hypertrophic scars can be treated too. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Save your money!: The only cream that can actually have a beneficial effect on scars is retinoids acid or a retinal all others are a waste of your money. Pretty much all 'scar creams' are scams. ...Read more
None REMOVES!: Scars are permanent and cannot be removed or eliminated by any surgeon or technique presently in existence. There are scar pads (silicone sheets) and topical products that can help to reduce the severity of scarring, and lasers can reduce redness, but nothing actually removes scars but cutting them out and replacing them with a new (perhaps better) scar. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
What is the best cream for residual lesion or hyperpigment without leaving any scar? I had freeze with liquid nitrogen.
Probably none: Various treatments can be used to treat acne scarring. Retina type creams might offer some improvement, but this will likely be minimal. Selection of treatment depends on various factors, including the type of scar, location, your skin type & other factors. Treatments include microdermabrasion, dermabrasion, fillers, surgical subcision, and lasers such as fraxel and fractionated co2 resurfacing. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Scar improvement: Scar improvement can be achieved, but it takes patience. An overnight improvement is simply impossible. There is no clinical evidence to support Mederma. You need a long peel. This is achieved with tretinoins. Also, microdermabrasion and/or dermabrasion depending on scar depth. A chemical peel is also an otpion, Tretinoins, abrasions, and peels all achieve the desired skin slough. Good luck ...Read more
Creams are weak.: Acne scars are hard to fix with a cream because the scarring is so deep. You can use some retin a (tretinoin) or glycolic based product that might give some improvement but you will probably need to do some deeper skin resurfacing like a chemical peel or laser peel. Another option is needling techniques. ...Read more

What is the best scar cream that I can get to help fade the darkness of a surgical incision? Any natural options that can help as well?
Unfortunately none: There are no creams which can remove pores or scars from the facial areas. Some topical applications are helpful in fresh scarring to quiet the areas. Seek a dermatologist that offers laser and chemical peel options. Be careful with treatment due to tendency to "over" pigment when using these entities. ...Read more

Acne scars: Chemical peels, when performed by a trained practitioner, may help reduce the appearance of acne scars but will not eliminate large or deep scarring. Laser therapy may be more effective. Vitamins, although not harmful in normal doses, are likely not going to change the appearance of skin scars significantly. Over the counter skin preparations probably won't give you desired results. ...Read more

I had scleroderma and it left a scar that resembles a burn/discoloration. I sometimes get depressed due to color. What's the best cream to be normal?
Morphea: It sounds like you had the localized form (also called morphea). Retin-a (tretinoin) cream will sometimes help with those types of scars, though it is an off-label use, and improvement is slow. There are plastic surgery options too, depending on where the scar is located. A dermatologist can help you decide on the best course of action. ...Read more
