Is it safe to take diflucan (fluconazole) and drink alcohol free beer?

Is it safe to take diflucan (fluconazole) and drink alcohol free beer?

Avoid carbs: Assuming you are taking Diflucan (fluconazole) for a yeast infection, it would be best to avoid foods and drinks that turn to sugar in your body, including alcohol free beer. There seems to be a misconception that beer without alcohol is low carb but in fact one bottle can contain 13-15grams of carbs. Yeast live on sugars/carbs so a low carb diet that is preferable gluten -free as well, is best. ...Read more

Can someone who was an alcoholic have a few beers from time to time? Will it trigger withdrawal?

Can someone who was an alcoholic have a few beers from time to time? Will it trigger withdrawal?

Tough; case by case: Most individuals who have struggled with alcoholism in past and can drink in moderation after a sustained period of abstinence only if they have done the recovery work of building relationships and routines that are supportive of health and not tied to drinking. It is still risky. I've known people who thought they could do it after 20 years of sobriety and couldn't. Consider the risks. ...Read more

I had a cdt test yesterday but consumed 4 non alcoholic beers 7 days ago.I noticed today that the non alcoholic beer has a 0.5% alcohol level.

No problema: Even standard alcohol drinks, (1 shot = 1 beer = 1 glass of wine) should be metabolized in a healthy person at about 1 per hour. So seven very low or no alcohol beers 7 days of go should not be any kind of problem days later. ...Read more

Someone i know drank over 30 bottles of beer. Is he an alcoholic?

Someone i know drank over 30 bottles of beer. Is he an alcoholic?

Highly likely he is: although you diagnose alcohol problems not strictly by how much someone is drinking and more by how much harm it is doing to their life, nobody can drink 30 beers in the course of a drinking episode without being HIGHLY tolerant to alcohol (it is equivalent to 1 1/2 liters of vodka). Anyone who tolerates that has to be LOTS drinking daily or close to it, and likely has the associated problems. ...Read more

Help please! is drinking mixed alcoholic drink better than just drinking beers?

Both are bad: Mixed drinks and beer are the same after a fashion. The rule is alcohol in the drink. Making a mixed drink, you may get more alcohol in the drink than the 1oz the drink calls for. Beer can vary with alcohol by volume (german weiss/wheat beers versus american lagers). So neither is better. ...Read more

Diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis about a year ago - can drink at all? And why do I get drink off just 1 or 2 beers now? My husband was diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis about a year ago... He served in the military where they treated him a disease

He : He gets drunk after just a beer or two now because of his alcoholic hepatitis. The hepatitis means that his liver cells have become inflammed (injured). The unhealthy liver cells can no longer metabolize (break down) the alcohol he drinks. When his liver was healthier, the cells could metabolize the alcohol. If he continues to drink, he may well develop cirrhosis. Cirrhosis destroys liver cells and creates fibrous scar tissue. Since we need our liver to metabolize a lot more than just alcohol, it is essential to live. Please look up alanon in your yellow pages.
