I am in my late 20s, female, vegetarian. Prone to low BP/iron. Will multivitamin and mineral supplements help?
Maybe a little...: Vegetarians usually have well balanced diets aside from b12 that is found in meat. Hence, a multi-vitamin would help under these circumstances or if you feel your diet could be better balanced. If you think your iron levels are low, have heavy periods perhaps and frequently feel fatigued consider getting a complete blood count and iron panel to see if you would benefit from iron supplementation. ...Read more

By all means: If you are a vegetarian, you have the moral high ground but will need a physician's guidance on supplementing or you will probably become seriously sick. Vegetarian claims that you can get sufficient iron without supplementing are disinformation. If you are weak, there is some cause other than your supplements. You need and deserve a full workup. ...Read more

Carnitine is not a vitamin, but is a beneficial nutrient found mostly in red meat that aids in burning fat for energy & is good for our hearts & muscles, so consider taking l-carnitine too. ...Read more

You are young and: MVI (multivitamin) daily is great that isn't sold in the chain pharmacies or Costco may be higher quality. We can't recommend brands in this forum.
