Some anxiety is unavoidable but too much is destructive. Short term med solutions include benzo's. Longer term meds include ssri antidepressants. Buspar (buspirone) also helps some. Psychotropic meds: There is no one "best " medication for this purpose. The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor class is good for this. I personally like Lexapro (escitalopram) because of it's relatively mild side effect profile but others are equally effective. See that you are taking diazepam.
