Preferably not: Mucinex d contains Guaifenesin Pseudoephedrine 120mg which can raise blood pressure, make you jittery, "hyper" and cause heartburn and constipation. Prednisone 40 mg may worsen the side effects, like high blood pressure, thyroid problem or diabetes. You should rinse y our nose with saline and use a nasal decongestant like oxymetazoline (afrin) for 5 days. Guaifenesin may help (mucinex without d). ...Read more

Told take decongestant for URI w/ sinus infection & laryngitis. Won't it make the laryngitis worse? Saw ENT & no vocal cord issues but got prednisone.

Likely safe, but...: Seems like you have already been seen by at least one physician and maybe more than one.The best time to ask questions about med recommendations and review concerns is with the physician prescribing the treatment.So i would contact your physician mainly.
