I take Xanax (alprazolam) XR 1mg and celexa 10mg. Just started celexa yesterday. Can I take Tums with this combination. What about 20mg of omeprazole?
Omeprazole raises the blood levels of Celexa which can lead to serious side effects. In general the highest dose of Celexa while on Omeprazole is 20mg per day. You really need to ask your doctor or prescriber to guide you as I do not know enough about your general health.
As far as alternating xanax (alprazolam) and Celexa my opinion is that this is not a good idea. Celexa is taken every day. ...Read more

Depends on…: Frequency & severity of symptoms: mild, occasional heartburn can be relieved by otc antacids (tums/rolaids/mylanta/gaviscon). More frequent/severe may require otc h2 acid blocker (zantac/axid/tagamet/pepcid). Severe/frequent symptoms: try otc/rx ppi (prilosec/prevacid/protonix). Dietary changes help, too: no caffeine/soda, fried/fatty foods, spicy foods, onions, acidic foods (tomatoes, lemon, lime. ...Read more

What's the best depression medicine on the market my dr prescribed me celexa (citalopram) it makes me sleep I don't wanna wake up I've had 3 deaths in one year?
Talk Therapy!: While you search for a better antidepressant, definitely get involved in supportive talk therapy. The losses you've faced and your grief will not be resolved by drugs alone - they may not even be necessary. You need to work through your feelings which may be fairly normal and healthy. But, un-dealt with, they can fester leading to worse symptoms. Be picky, this therapist is one you need to trust. ...Read more

A month ago I woke up with derealization what is the best way to treat this? Currently taking clonazepam and celexa (citalopram). When will I "wake up"? HELP!!
Talk to someone: Depersonalization and derealization are often helped greatly by cognitive and psychodynamic therapies in conjunction with supportive medication. Your best bet is to find a psychologist and psychiatrist who you can partner with to help alleviate the worry you're experiencing from these symptoms. Hope that helps! ...Read more
I been on celexa (citalopram) now for 10 yrs and I want to have another child. What is the best method of stopping celexa (citalopram)?
Talk with MD: Celexa (citalopram) should be tapered off rather than abruptly stopped. It is also important to wait a period of time once you are off the Celexa (citalopram) to make sure that depression does not return. Depression during pregnancy can have very negative effects on the developing child due to elevated cortisol that is seen in depression. You are also at higher risk for postpartum depression, so have close md monitoring. ...Read more

Celexa (citalopram): Celexa (citalopram) can be taken in the morning or evening, depending on what your response to it is. You have this information from your previous experience. What anti depressant is best? I don't like the side affects from Paxil (paroxetine) and I want off celexa because of heart risk.
There is no "best": There's no "best" antidepressant for everyone. All are proven to be effective, but different classes have different side effect profiles. Individuals may also respond better to one than another. Your psychiatrist is the best professional to talk with about your own needs -- and will want to know about any difficulties you're having with paxil (paroxetine). ...Read more
20 CELEXA 10 LEXAPRO...What would be the best geared toward more anxiety less depression without using Xanax (alprazolam) or klonopin daily. HELP!!
What is the best medicine for anxiety? I'm on celexa (citalopram) and it doesn't work. I have a constant fear of having a heart attack like my father.
Caution: Be cautious with anxiolytics. They can help, but are best used short-term as they can be very addictive. Perhaps a better long term strategy would be to understand why you are so afraid the same thing will happen to you as happened to your father. Your risk factors may be entirely different and you may really not be at risk. Also, consider an increase in the Celexa (citalopram) if you are under 20 g a day. ...Read more
I've tried restoril trazadone remeron celexa an Ambien (zolpidem) none of them worked or just worked for like two weeks & stopped what's the best sleep meds?
Worked for 2 weeks: Only Ambien (zolpidem) is habit forming. If you took many of those COMBINED and not sleep well, means you have severe mental disease not just sleep problem. If Rx works for only 2w then means not proper dosing for long term benefit. You have severe problem and need a psychiatrist early to avoid aggravation and waste of time and health by symptomatic treatment. ...Read more
Sir, for my normal gas problem can I take renitidine while on isotretinion for acne? If not which group of antacid will be best for me during the drug
U can take: Ranitidine (histamine 2 blocker) or any antacid (mylanta, maalox) with Isotretinoin without any drug interaction. Don't take the antacid and Isotretinoin at the same time or space them apart by at least 4 hours so that the absorption of the latter won't be affected. Take care! Http://www. Greenmedinfo. Which is the best medication for really bad anxiety other than benzodiazapines? I am already on risperidone, celexa and depakote. I have also tried Buspar (buspirone) with no relief.
No single best: There is no single best medication- different things work for different people. However, I would advise not relying only on medication. Even bad anxiety can respond to counseling (like cognitive behavioral therapy), meditation, exercise, emotional freedom technique, homeopathy, supplements like magnesium, b complex, l-theanine & 5-htp & herbs like holy basil & ashwagandha. Consult a holistic doc! ...Read more
What is the best otc, non-ppi antacid (i.E. Malox, mylanta, pepto bismol, tums, (calcium carbonate) rolaids, etc.)?
Acid reduction...: Non-ppi acid reducers include the h2-blocker class (tagamet=cimetidine; zantac=ranitidine; pepcid=famotidine) as well as antacids (like maalox, mylanta, tums, (calcium carbonate) etc.). The former reduce production of acid while the latter neutralize stomach acid. There are pros ; cons to each, so its not a question of which is best but which is best for you. Can take antacids 1 ; 3 hours after meals ; at bedtime. ...Read more

Depends on you: Every patient is different and will respond better to certain medications while others may not respond well to a particular drug. Best to talk to your own doctor about medicine for anxiety/depression but other drugs such as wellbutrin or Effexor (venlafaxine) might also be useful for you. Of course exercise and good counseling are equally if not more important than any drug. Good luck! ...Read more
