Is it ok to take a preworkout plus protein shakes plus amino acids plus multivitamins. Distributed along the day and not at the same time. ?
Your nutrition plan: sounds fine but it would be best to see a nutritionist so that the plan can be tailor made to fit your needs. Many over the counter multivitamins are weak. A professional can tell you which brand is best in your local area. Look more for higher doses of each vitamin w/in the mulitvit rather than a longer list of ingredients. DANGER: Replacing any of your b vitamins (especially in high dose) without ensuring an adequate intake of all your b vitamins can result in an overall deficiency of the ones not replaced. This is because the b vitamins often work in concert. Driving pathways that require b1 that also require b2/b3 can create a relative deficiency. Having too many members of the brass section can drown out the strings. ...Read more
Can't get too much C: VItamin C is extremely safe and not known to have a toxic dose. Many docs give up to 100,000 mg IV safely! Almost all mammals make Vitamin C. Other mammals our size manufacture about 5000 mg of C a day and likely have a good reason for doing so. I advise people take at least 500-2000 mg of Vit. C twice a day and all you can get from diet. Diet & acid erosion: You have quite an oral.Hygiene routine. Mi past is great at decreasing decay and strengthening teeth. Look at your diet to reduce erosion. Drink more water. Take spironolactone, phentermine, one a day mutli vit-minerals (with 13% mg) and vit D3 daily.
Can i add magnesium supplement to my diet for my migrain?
NO: You can not overdose on magnesium if your kidneys are normal as the excess will be removed in urine or stool as magnesium causes diarrhea. Since you take Phentermine which can increase heart rate and cause arrythmias the concomitant use of magnesium has potential to cause harm as high level of magnesium can affect heart rate. Stop your Phentermine and then you can take magnesium supplements. ...Read more

Im taking a supplement called muscle synergy and it contains 7000 mg of arginine, is that too much?
7 g of arginine: is a bit much, but similar doses (actually divided into three separate smaller doses during the day) have been studied in clinical trials for patients with angina. 5 g (or 5000 mg) seems like a more reasonable dose. There are several documented cases of overdose, usually due to high potassium levels in the blood. ...Read more
I take a supplement called oxy powder by ghc. It contains 2746 mg of ozonated magnesium oxides per 4 caps. I take 1 per day. Is this safe?
Should be.: Based on what you shared, i calculate your daily mg supplementation of about 700mg. If your kidney function is normal, this dose of mg shouldn't be an issue. Careful as too much mg can result in diarrhea. Unless you have a medical condition or are on medications that can lead to mg wasting, a healthy well-balanced diet rich in nuts, soybeans, bran should provide plenty of mg for you. ...Read more

I take a multivitamin plus vitamin c, d, all b's with niacin and fish oil, calcium, red yeast rice, should I take the vitamin magnesium with these & why?
I don't like it.: Truth be told, I don't like combining Niacin with the red yeast rice as they can both have toxic effects upon the liver. I hope you're having your liver blood enzyme levels monitored on that combination. Adding Magnesium to all of this is not my concern as I don't see any issue in that as long as your doses of all these other medications are not excessive. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
One day I took two capsules of 5-HTP derived from plant Griffonia simplicifolia. Next day had green stool. Is it 5HTP or lemon balm tea each morning?
Probably neither: Neither 5-HTP nor lemon balm are known to cause green stool. It is most likely a coincidence that this happened after taking these. There are many possible causes of green stool; most are not serious. See http://altmedicine.about.com/od/gettingdiagnosed/a/green_stools.htm for a list of potential causes. ...Read more
Gave up diet soda a year ago. I drink 2-3 liters of water daily plus 2 Vitamin Water Zero daily with lunch one & dinner for flavor. Safe choice?
I think this sounds: pretty good. Vitamin Water Zero passes a lot of nutritional tests: it is calorie free, has no artificial sweeteners (sweetened with Trulia and fructose) and no artificial dyes. You are getting 200% of the vitamin C recommended daily value (100% in each 8 oz), but close to 100% of a handful of B vitamins and a boost for a few more. Total fluid intake: about 84 to 118 oz daily..generous but ok:) ...Read more
I'm consuming a suplement tablet which contains selenium 100mcg + vit.E 200i.U + vit.C500mg + vit.A 5000i.U every morning. Is it good or too much? Tx
Vitamins can be toxi: The doses you are consuming are probably safe, and helpful. Your only concern is with vitamin a dose. The vitamin dose must be added to your food content. Some people eat a lot of vit-a, and take extra zinc, which causes vitamin a to be formed. Check a level of a after supplementing for two months, compare it to your baseline level. If the elevation of the vit-a is rapid, then reduce daily dose, . ...Read more

Ok: I like the fiber part of it, but not to happy with it as a fat binder. Fat is not bad and it is necessary for weight loss. You just have to consume good fat like raw nuts, olive oil, coconut oil. There is also a huge problem with low vitamin d that has to do a great deal with not eating enough good fat. So this product seems to block fat absorption, not good.
