How many people are suffering from IgA nephropathy disease in Canada? (%) Thank you for your time. :)

How many people are suffering from IgA nephropathy disease in Canada? (%) Thank you for your time. :)

Hard to tell: There are some incidence reports for several countries, but didn't see a report for Canada. The prevalence number is the number of total living patients with it, not just the annual new cases (Ministry of Health may know the number). ...Read more

F/u will save you bad surprises also new treatments may develop.Blood pressure is ideal. Aggressive salt restriction under 2000mg/day if high bp. ...Read more

My 9 yr old son has strep throat and a kidney disease called IgA nephropathy it's a kidney disorder started when he was 5. Kidney biopsy ?

Confusing question: Although some strep strains can cause kidney problems, early treatment usually avoids them. If the kid has a pre-existing kidney problem, the need for a biopsy is best determined by the docs who know him best. A recent strep infection would not require such an invasive procedure, but a significant change in kidney function might. ...Read more
