Either should help: My usual sequence is to try benzoyl peroxide, then topical antibiotics (erythromycin is a good one), then topical tretinoin (they can be used in combination or separately). Whether it is any better than other over-the-counter bpo creams is unlikely except that brand name benzac ac does have ingredients to help absorption and minimize irritation, which may allow more consistent use and thus better results. Benzyl/salicylic aci: One has to try benzyl proxide low strength like 2.5% and if tolerated can be increased to 5%., not cream but wash .But if not tolerated than you can try 1%salicylic acid and can be increased to 2% if tolerated.
