Wife having cough since 8th month - delivered on 03jul'13. -ve on blood test. Benylin (dextromethorphan) exp prescribed, but were given diphelin. Is it ok to have this ?

Depends . . .: Not sure which benylin (dextromethorphan) product she was prescribed (http://www.Benylin.Ca/eng/products.Asp). Diphelin (http://www.Medpharma-ae.Com/showimg.Php?Id=129) is generally well tolerated by most people (diphenhydramine is sold alone as Benadryl in states). Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine, not antitussive or cough suppressant (unless doc believes cough due to post-nasal drip). Best to find out why cough. ...Read more
