I may have taken double dose of Benicar (olmesartan) hct 40. Are there side effects from taking to much?

Watch BP: It can cause a drop in your blood pressure. You should monitor your blood pressure closely for the next several hours to make sure it doesn't drop too much. Also if you start feeling lightheaded, dizzy or like you maybe feeling faint call your doctor. You should probably have someone with you to help if you have any of the symptoms described so you don't fall and hurt yourself. ...Read more

Second ingredient.: Benicar (olmesartan)-HCT has a second ingredient, Hydrochlorothiazide, added to the Benicar (olmesartan). Combination BP medications like this are generally more potent than single agents. The HCT part is a mild diuretic, too, so electrolytes need to be monitored. ...Read more

The Benicar (olmesartan) hct I took this morning does affect my blood pressure today or how many day form now?

The Benicar (olmesartan) hct I took this morning does affect my blood pressure today or how many day form now?

Benicar (olmesartan) and BP: Benicar (olmesartan) is a drug of the angiotensin receptor blocker class combined with a diuretic. The BP lowering effect of Benicar (olmesartan) can take up to two weeks to be seen. That is because it remodels the endothelium (e) of arteries as is shown in the image. This remodeling takes two weeks and the BP is lowered by making the e more compliant, thereby lowering bp. Check back with your doctor in two weeks to see. ...Read more

Metoprolol 50mg 2x daily and Benicar (olmesartan) hct 40/25 1x daily. Is it best to take before or after meals?

Metoprolol 50mg 2x daily and Benicar (olmesartan) hct 40/25 1x daily. Is it best to take before or after meals?

Does not matter much: Benicar (olmesartan) HCT can be taken with or without meals - doesn't have an impact. It is suggested that metoprolol be taken with or just after meals, but I have not found and have not been aware of a significant effect by food. In summary, it does not matter much when they're taken in relation to meals. Most important is to take them as directed, aiming for roughly the same times of the day each day. ...Read more

I have been on Benicar (olmesartan) HCT for several years. Can you tell me more about this FDA Roadmap Study as it relates to Benicar (olmesartan) and increased risk of cardiovascular death?

I have been on Benicar (olmesartan) HCT for several years. Can you tell me more about this FDA Roadmap Study as it relates to Benicar (olmesartan) and increased risk of cardiovascular death?

Unclear: This was one of many trials that have been conducted with Benicar (olmesartan) which showed a slight increase in mortality among "high risk" diabetic patients (as compared to placebo patients). That said, there was a lot of criticism of these findings - and when additional studies were conducted - the same results were not replicated. Here's a great article: http://www. Medscape. My doctor just changed my blood pressure meds from benicar (olmesartan) 40mg to benicar (olmesartan) hct 40 mg/25 it's 99/70. is that too low?

Ok as long as. ..: It is okay as long as feeling comfortable in positioning change, that is, no dizziness. If yes, ask your doc to fine-tune its dose, but always take on practicing quality healthy lifestyle without overindulgence and obsession as described in http://formefirst. Com/eMagicPowerUHL. Html. Besides, viewing the lists of Facts of life - 1, 2, & 3 from BUTTON in HOME of www. Formefirst. Com could be useful... ...Read more

Taking Benicar (olmesartan) HCT 20/12.5 for over a year. WBC count has risen to 12.7. Is the Benicar (olmesartan) causing this? Is it leukemia? Never had a problem before.

High WBC: Could be from the drug or it may be dilutional. There are also many other causes. Need more details and comparison with previous blood counts as well as a breakdown of the different white blood cells, red cells and platelet counts to enter analyze the situation and whether more tests are needed. ...Read more

Dr switched me from Benicar (olmesartan) hct 20/12.5 to lisinopril hctz 20/12.5. Also take metoprolol 50mg 2x day and klorcon10 1x day. Bp is 81/49p48. No symptoms?

Over medication: You may not need that much meds -- I would recommend that you get for yourself an automatic arm BP machine and start recording your BP every morning for the next 2 weeks then report to your doctor. ...Read more

Metoprolol 50mg 2x daily. Benicar (olmesartan) hct 20/12.5 1x daily. Potassium level 3.0. How dangerous is this?

Low potassium: Your potassium is too low. It can lead to cardiac arrhythmias. If it gets lower, it can cause muscle weakness and paralysis. Please supplement it under a doctor's supervision (too much is even worse than too little). ...Read more

I am taking Benicar (olmesartan) 40mg/HCT 25mg daily for HTN, can I substitute a generic or similar med for Benicar (olmesartan)?

I am taking Benicar (olmesartan) 40mg/HCT 25mg daily for HTN, can I substitute a generic or similar med for Benicar (olmesartan)?

Maybe: Benicar (olmesartan) is very expensive, so a lot of people look for substitutes which are similar but less expensive. You should talk to your doctor about generics like losartan/HCTZ 100/25 mg. This is very similar, same category, but much less expensive. However, it does not work quite as well either. Usually, we do trial and error until we hit the right balance of efficacy, side effects and cost. ...Read more

Is spironolactone good for BP control. Would 25 mg spironolactone at pm along with Benicar (olmesartan) 40/hct 12.5 in am, ok. Is this too much diuretic to have.

Depends: It is a good medication to have in certain conditions like obesity and hypertension, sleep apnea and hypertension, hyperaldosteronism and htn. Used along with Benicar (olmesartan) there can be a concern for high potassium levels- your doc can monitor that. ...Read more

Taking Benicar (olmesartan) 40/ hct 12.5 but my potassium is 3.0 as the diuretic is causing potassium loss. Any other meds to control htn & replace hctz diuretic?

Taking Benicar (olmesartan) 40/ hct 12.5 but my potassium is 3.0 as the diuretic is causing potassium loss. Any other meds to control htn & replace hctz diuretic?

Low potassium levels: Your low potassium (k) could be worsened by magnesium (m) loss due to hct. Your k won't be normal unless the m is repleted. At your age, with a history of cardiac disease, you may have some chronic kidney disease. Hct won't work if you've <50% of your kidney function left. If your BP isn't controlled on your meds, ask your doc to rx Furosemide (f) as a diuretic. F causes urine loss of m and k too. ...Read more
