When my stomach is empty it can burn and make my throat feel tight and sometime raw. Also can induce anxiety. Why? Not overweight, no eating disorder.

You don't have to be symptomatic 24/7 to have an eating disorder diagnosis. If in doubt, schedule a medical evaluation with your physician. He or she may recommend psychological eval as well.

Are you underweight for your height, but think you are fat? Do you obsess about gaining weight & think you are fat, although others tell you you are too thin. Have you stopped menstruating? Do you nibble at your food & throw most of it away? If you are worried, it is probably worth consulting with a therapist who specializes in anorexia. It is hard to treat & very important to take care of !

Eating disorders are rare in males and can be tough to treat whatever one's gender. If he recognizes the problem and is seeking help and the two of you otherwise have a good relationship, it's neither contagious nor dangerous to you. But, if he expects you to support his bad eating habits or grows angry if you mention them, then leaving may be your best option. It often is quite chronic.
