My dr prescribed 50 mg of losartan and 25 mg of hctz (hydrochlorothiazide). is this a normal combination?

Very normal: Sure is. Like peanut butter and jelly. Peas and carrots. Hugs and kisses. That combination is effective, safe, and used very commonly because the losartan helps cancel a troublesome side effect of hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) (potassium wasting) and hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) potentiates the effect of losartan. Your dr is on the ball. ...Read more

Depends: if you are not feeling lightheaded, nauseous, tremulous then you are not symptomatic from low BP and will likely be ok, drink fluids with high sodium content to bring your BP back up and if those mentioned above symptoms persist for a long time and you feel close to passing out, please seek medical care for IV fluids. ...Read more
