Since my friend took Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and Mucinex I just want to make sure she isn't going to have a hear attack or her liver shut down. It wasn't a suicide.
OK, if right dose!: If taken on the suggested dose, there should be no reason to worry about. Do not exceed the dose suggested.See 1 more doctor answer
Medication effects: This is not a medication that can easily be used for this purpose. However, if suicide is a thought for you, I strongly urge you to walk into an emergency room and let them know that you need help. They can call people to help you right there. Depression is the leading cause of suicide, so suicidal thoughts indicate you may need help with depression,
Bad idea: The snorting of medicines that are not supposed to be administered intranasally is usually going to lead to catastrophic effects. The consequences of administering Benadryl (diphenhydramine) in an inappropriate manner could be delirium and hallucinations. You could also turn psychotic and accidentally hurt yourself or someone else.
No: Just don't take it again, with some people yes it can cause palpitations and incoordination
Rarely.: In people who have congenital LQTS, benadryl can cause heart arrythmias by making their underlying problem worse. In people with normal QT, very large doses or overdoses of benadryl can prolong the QT and have serious or fatal consequences. Bendaryl is a medicine to avoid if you have LQTS, and only one of many factors to consider if you have the acquired version. Speak to a cardiologist.
Simple Care: Sunburn is response of the tissues to injury from solar radiation. It is simply inflammation which means increase blood flow to the area to promote healing. Do not use ice as this can injure already injured skin. Cool water soaks can help as can taking anti-inflammation medicines like Motrin or advil (ibuprofen). Avoid any further damage as this can cause scarring. Good skin cream applied daily/gently helps.See 1 more doctor answer
Time For DroolSchool: We here on the ranch call it"Benadrool"because it can shlog you out. So yes sometimes it can work for calming down. But too much turns it into Bena-DryMouthBlurredVisionKnockedOut-Dryl. So just take one capsule (25mg)or at most 50mg. It's not usually prescribed for this. There are other medications specifically for anxiety. But Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is a non-prescription medication and usually safe at proper doses
Possibly: Benedryl is an antihistamine which helps itching associated with hypersensitivity reactions such as allergies, bug bites, etc. You may find some transient relief of itching caused by fungal infections, but the ultimate treatment would be that of cure (i.e. topical antifungal cream/powder/spray).See 1 more doctor answer
