Can Benadryl (diphenhydramine) help relieve itching from dyshidriotic excema - it itches so bad, right in between my fingers :p?

NO!!!!!: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is a sleeping pill. It will make you sleepy. Even if you do not feel sleepy you are prone to accidents, same as alcohol. It will do nothing for your itch or your dermatitis. A potent steroid cream or gel will help you & is safe. Sometimes a few doses of oral steroid are useful, such as Prednisone 20mg alternate days for 3-5 doses. Usually it responds to clobetasol cream. ...Read more

Call your doctor: If it continues, it will need to be seen. This may be a reaction to the vaccine. Even if it resolves, it's a good idea to call the office where you received the shot. This would be considered an "adverse event". The cdc collects data on these events to monitor vaccine safety, and calculate the risks of side effects. ...Read more

Why I breakout with welts on my forearm it itches too what can it be I take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) it goes away sometimes but what can it be it comes and goes?

Many causes: If Benadryl (diphenhydramine) controlled it, then it is not contact dermatitis in the true sense. If the hives are confined to the forearms, then it may be from something you are using on your forearm especially when they don't involve the other exposed areas of the body (which would have suggested a link to sun exposure). Consider seeing a dermatologist. ...Read more

I am itching from hydrocodone, can I take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the itching?

I am itching from hydrocodone, can I take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the itching?

Maybe an allergy: All opioids, of which hydrocodone is one, have itching as a known side effect. If you have itching without any rash or other symptoms, it may be just a side effect. If there is anything else happening as well, then an allergic reaction may be the culprit. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can help some, but Benadryl (diphenhydramine) may create drowsiness. Contact your prescribing physician for advice. ...Read more
